Our Projects

Don't Chuck It - Pot It!

We’re always mowing down or pulling tree seedlings from flowerbeds or laws, which have potential for growth. Every tree counts! We want you to help us by saving your seedlings. All you have to do it put them in a flowerpot – it’s that easy. Next time you find one in you garden. Contact NVN and we will arrange collection.

We nurture the seedlings and use them for tree planting schemes within the area. See below a case study where we have used your seedlings to kickstart a small woodland!

Pollinator Initiative

We’re asking you to collect seeds from wildflowers and grasses – while taking no more than 15% from each plant (to leave plenty for wildlife) – which we can add to our seed bank.

The seeds will then be used for rewilding projects and the creation of ‘Bee Lines’.

Contact NVN to donate seeds for our pollinator initiative.

Honeybees often get the credit, but most pollination is actually done by wild pollinators such as other bees, hoverflies, butterflies, moths, and beetles. These diverse species are vital to biodiversity. About 75% of flowering plants and 35% of food crops rely on them. That’s one out of every three bites of food you eat! But pollinators are declining due to habitat loss and pollution. Without enough high-quality nectar and pollen nearby, they can’t survive—and there aren’t enough pollinator-friendly plants left.
